I'm looking to start a unique group for guys that I invite you to join if you:
* Once considered yourself Gay but now consider yourself Bi
* Once considered yourself Gay or Bi but now consider yourself Straight
* Currently consider yourself Gay or Bi but you are in an intimate relationship with someone of the opposite sex
* Currently consider yourself Gay, but are bi-curious for the opposite sex
* Want to meet and hang out socially with like-minded people.
This is intended to be a social group for guys to hang out and do fun things, not some kind of “program” or therapy group to try to change your sexual orientation. Your sexual orientation is your business. But have you ever wondered why when straight people come out of the closet as gay or bi, it's a cause for celebration but if a gay guy comes out of the closet as bi or straight, people act as if he's gone totally nuts? Have you ever wondered why when a lesbian decides to date men, nobody bats an eye, but you rarely ever hear about a gay guy who decides to date women? Maybe you've found yourself in the awkward position of bringing a girlfriend home to Mom and Dad years after you came out to them? It seems that this is the last taboo in GLBT society. I'm hoping to start a group that is a comfortable, non-judgemental setting for guys like myself who have experienced this uncommon “reverse” transition. I know you guys are out there. I've met some of you. So let's get together and hang out.
All that said, please move on if you:
* Believe homosexuality is a sin and you're looking for an ex-gay “ministry”
* Belong to an ex-gay “ministry” and are looking for a forum to preach the “evils” of being gay.
* Have a fundamental disagreement with the premise of this group and want to tell us how we are all a bunch of internally homophobic traitors to the GLBT community.
* Are looking for a circle jerk. It's possible that we may do things like go to the Bush Company, but this is not a sexual or fetish-based group.
* You think this is a joke
I'm hopeful that there will be enough interest in this idea to get something started. Please contact me if you are interested.
